Impur, December 8 (MExN): The Impur Christian Hospital (ICH), on December 8, conducted a formal welcome ceremony for the first batch of students enrolled for its Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) course.

Altogether, 20 students from across the state have been enrolled for the ANM course, a 2-year diploma programme in the field of Nursing.

The opening of ANM, School of Nursing is another milestone in the history of ICH, first established in 1912, stated a press release from Rev Dr Mar Pongener, Executive Secretary, Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM).

It was opened with a vision to avail good health care for the people and has been significantly instrumental in healing ministry, it said.

“We feel honored to have been permitted by the State Nursing School Council to become one of the school centres of ANM in the State,” it noted, adding that the hospital is “committed to integrated training to carry out holistic healing.”

During the event, Dr Sashimeren Aier, Chairman Board of Trustees, ICH expressed gratitude to God for the achievement and further appreciated the State Government for issuing a No Objection Certificate for the running of the School.

Rev L Yapang Mollier, Secretary, ABAM Church & Mission in his exhortation citing Hebrews 12 also encouraged the students to remember the three principles laid by the Apostle Paul -  to lay aside every weight, run with patience, and look unto Jesus the author and the finisher of our faith.

Rev Dr Pongener also expressed gratitude to the Board of Trustees led by Dr Aier for working “without any sign of attrition to bring this milestone into reality.”

He also expressed appreciation to local churches, families, and individuals for their prayers and contributions toward ICH.  He further encouraged the students to give their best efforts as they begin their training.

The welcome ceremony ended with thanksgiving to God and asking His blessings upon ICH, the release added.
