Kohima, November 15 (MExN): The first State level Catapult Target Hitting Competition was held at Heritage Village, Kisama on November 15.
According to a DIPR report, “the programme is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India far evolutionary journey but also hold within them the power and potential to enable the vision of Prime Minister to activate India 2.0 which is fuelled by the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
In commemoration of the birth anniversary of the Indian tribal freedom fighter, Bhagwan Birsa Munda, The iconic week of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Birth Anniversary is celebrated from November 15 to 22 across the country, it stated.
Altogether, 25 participants participated in the catapult target hitting competition where Mhonthung secured the first position while Yibemo and Among secured the second and third position respectively.
The event was inaugurated by Additional Secretary, Nchumbemo Lotha. The competition was organized by the Department of Tribal affairs, Government of Nagaland as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebration.
