Students of NEISSR, Chümoukedima staged flash mobs on the theme “Drug Free Youth”on August 21 at Jack and Jill, Chümoukedima, in collaboration with the IQAC and Red Ribbon Club.

CHÜMOUKEDIMA, AUGUST 22 (MExN): The North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), Chümoukedima, observed the 6th National Social Work Week with a series of events highlighting youth engagement and social responsibility.
As part of the observance, BSW V Semester trainees staged two flash mobs on the theme “Drug Free Youth”—on August 21 at Jack and Jill, Chümoukedima, in collaboration with the IQAC and Red Ribbon Club, and on August 22 at Shekinah Montessori School. The energetic performances drew the attention of both the public and young students, using music and movement to spread awareness on substance abuse and the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle.
Dr Toli H Kiba, Assistant Professor, NEISSR, in his address at Shekinah Montessori School, highlighted the destructive impact of drugs—physically, mentally, morally, spiritually and academically—and urged students to become advocates of a drug-free lifestyle.
Earlier, on August 19, the IQAC organised a poster presentation on the theme “Bridging Care and Compassion: Social Work in Health Settings,” while the NSS Unit held an essay writing competition on “Youth and Mental Health” on August 20.
Through these initiatives, NEISSR reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing socially responsible, value-driven and compassionate youth by blending art, advocacy and awareness into its social work practice.
