FNR asked to explain ‘real motive’

Kohima, September 12: The Khaplang group of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) has accused the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) for the split in NSCN (K). In a hard hitting statement envoy to the collective leadership of NSCN (K), Kughalu Mulatonu put the blame on Rev. Wati Aier and his FNR for the split in the outfit in June with one led by S S Khaplang and another by Khole and Kitovi. He termed FNR as ‘fratricide’. He demanded FNR to explain the real motive of exclusion of other Naga political groups in the reconciliation process.
The Khaplangs envoy said so far four groups are not part of the reconciliation process- NSCN (K), NNC (Adinno) NNC (Panger) and NNC (Kiumukam) but FNR continue to champion the cause. He also accused the FNR Convenor of sending hundreds of NSCN (IM) cadres to Myanmar some months back where casualty was high. He said even NSCN (K) had lost around ten cadres and rival NSCN (IM) lost over 50 cadres.
Kughalu claimed that FNR is contemplating to construct a peace building but questioned that when only three factions are involved in the reconciliation process there is no point in constructing peace building. Whether the FNR Convenor is going to construct peace building for those cadres recently killed in Myanmar or for his own benefit the envoy questioned. He said FNR and NSCN (IM) cannot force Nagas to succumb to their terrorist traits.
On proposed visit of Isak Chishi Swu and Th Muivah to Zunheboto and Mon, Kughalu said since NSCN (IM) leaders have categorically spelt out that Government of India has ruled out integration and sovereignty there is no point for the duo to visit Zunheboto and Mon.
Meanwhile Assam Rifles raided the house Col Apan this morning at Mon and damaged household articles, doors and windowpanes and took away Rs. 40,000. The NSCN (K) has already lodged complain with the Indian authorities. During the raid Assam Rifles even branded NSCN (K) as terrorists. We are not terrorists. We are national workers, minister for information and publicity, Wangtin Naga castigated security forces.
