Forefather’s Religion & History: Book written in Tenyidie released

Kohima, April 15 (MExN): The much anticipated book titled ‘Pfutsau Nanyü and Kelhou Dze (Forefather’s Religion and History)’ in Tenyidie written jointly by Meguo-o Mechülho, Medoselhou Keretsü and Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu was today released here at hotel De Oriental Grand, Kohima.

Releasing the book, Prof D Kuolie, Secretary General of Ura Academy said the book will not only be considered to be the foundation for academicians and research scholars but will remain treasured for generation to come, stated a press release received here.

Congratulating the authors, he said that in today’s academic world with special reference to the schools of social sciences, humanities and language trying hard to document every aspect of ancient’s life objectively to draw our knowledge resources for humanity and keeping in mind the study of our ancestral life as very important filed and maintained that this book is worthy of studying as the book has documented our forefathers’ actual life and we will come across its uniqueness but also complexities.

He also said that the book is an authentic reference to primary data for research scholars in the field of humanities, social sciences and languages.

He also lamented that we have almost lost every aspect of our cultural life, and though we are still struggling for our political freedom, claiming we are not Indians on grounds of racial, cultural, religious, economics, social etc, we have lost touch with our roots and therefore, the present generation lost the knowledge of our ancestral life.

Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu in his speech maintained that the book is not written for the generation to follow and practice how our forefathers are, but to preserve how their way of life was and is expected that we know our history well. He further added that the book is expected to help a long way for our generation to know the lifestyles of our forefathers in detail.

Meguo-o Mechülho in his speech said that there are so many good things our forefathers have practiced, so the book is expected to communicate all these good things to our generation.

Medoselhou Keretsü also shared that the reality of our forefather's practices and lifestyles will go extinct so the intention of writing this book is to preserve for the generation to know their roots of history.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Dr Metuo Liezietsu, scripture reading and prayer by Neituoselie Liezietsu, prayer for the releasing of book by Dr Ruokuovilie Sachü, Pastor Khedi Baptist Church, a special song was presented by Dr Medongulie Tseikha with vote of thanks by Kezhalelie Keretsü and benediction by Kethosenuo Kire, Associate Pastor, Khedi Baptist Church.
