Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): Former Chief Medical Officer of Tuensang and a prominent citizen of Dimapur, Dr Ajit Kumar Mech passed away at Zion Hospital Dimapur following illness on Saturday.
He was 65 and leaves behind his wife, three sons and daughter in law. He was cremated at Walford crematorium on Saturday afternoon.
Founding president of Mech Kachari Public Organisation and one of the founding advisers of Kachari Tribal Council Nagaland, Dr Mech was also one of the advisers of the Dimapur Namghar Trust Board and executive member of the Dimapur Namghar Committee till his death.
He was also associated with various other social and professional organisations of Nagaland.
His demise was widely mourned, particularly by the Kachari community of Nagaland.
