Foundation stone laid to build Rani Gaidinliu Memorial Park in Poilwa

Poilwa, December 14 (MExN): The foundation stone for Rani Gaidinliu Memorial Park was laid down in Poilwa under Peren district by Som Kamei, Post Master General (PMG) North East II Region Dimapur in December 11. It was organised by the Tourism Development Committee (TDC) Poilwa.

The park is proposed to be build in the memory of challenges and pains Gaidinliu undertook during her struggles for liberations of her people from the clutches of the Mighty British Empire during 1930s from Luangkao (Manipur) to Hangrum (NC Hills) to Poilwa (Pulomi) Naga Hills, then Assam, informed a press release from TDC.

Among others, the foundation was laid in the presence of  K Akhang, President Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland), and  CR Zeliang, President, Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland.

The programme was chaired by TDC Chairman, Kenlum Hemang while  Talang Deacon, Baptist Church, Poilwa pronounced the invocation. 

It also included brief note on ‘Gaidinliu in Poilwa and the arrest” by I Daniel Zeliang and speeches by K Akhang, CR Zeliang, and Dr Tasiliu Nbung, a scholar & writer from Peren, PMG Kamei. It ended with vote of thanks by Rangsam N Hau, Chairman Poilwa Cillage Council.
