Two government offices in Kohima were sealed on November 10 after the death of a suspected COVID-19 positive employee.
The sealing order, issued by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, on November 10, stated that the Directorate and Secretariat of Rural Development Department were temporarily sealed for a period of 48 hours for sanitizing the buildings, following the detection and death of a COVID-19 positive patient.
This was as per the guidelines on preventive measures to contain spread in workplace settings, it added.
It said that the sealed areas have been cordoned off and advised “the public and all concerned” to follow all safety protocols, including wearing mask, to ensure public hygiene and personal safety.
Meanwhile, in view of the detection of a COVID-19 positive patient, Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Mohammed Ali Shihab A IAS has notified that the District Task Force (DTF) Kohima has decided to seal the School Education Department, Nagaland Civil Secretariat and SCERT Department, Nagaland Civil Secretariat.
The offices has temporarily closed/shut for a period of 48 (Forty Eight) hours, wherein fumigation of the premises is being initiated, following all health safety measures and SOPs of the Government, the DC Kohima informed.
“The sealed areas are mapped and cordoned off and the public and all concerned are advised to follow all safety precautions of wearing masks all the time, frequently washing hands and maintain social/physical distances to ensure public hygiene and personal safety within the proximity of the sealed areas,” the order added.
