Dimapur, February 6 (MExN): Indian Dental Association Nagaland State Branch (IDANSB) will be organising statewide free denture camp as part of Community Dental Health (CDH) Programme on February 12 and 13. Denture camp will be held in all districts across the state.
Denture camp will primarily focus on providing denture (artificial teeth) for free to less privileged people in villages and rural areas who do not have easy access to dental facilities. Dental surgeons across the state will participate in the camp, an update from IDANSB informed.
Group leaders have been appointed for different locations in all the districts who will be coordinating with the local authorities in organising the camp. Each group will comprise of five Dental surgeons and dental assistant.
On day one patients with missing teeth will be screened. Following diagnosis and patient assessment, mouth impression will be made and dentures will be processed. On the second day dentures will be delivered to the patients at free of cost.
The IDANSB also informed that patient education regarding the importance of oral health and hygiene maintenance will be done. Medicine and OTC products will also be distributed for free.
“Members of IDANSB contributed funds for the Community Dental Health Programme. Funds collected were used for procure dental materials. Equipments and consumable goods were also contributed by the members for the denture camp. IDANSB members have also agreed to do free follow-up for patients treated during the camp in their clinics without charging any fee,” the update said.
