Kohima, August 9 (MExN): In a concerted effort to bridge healthcare accessibility and social security, the NPF Youth Wing, Tseminyu Division, successfully organized a Free Medical Camp alongside a comprehensive registration and awareness drive for the Chief Minister's Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) across Tseminyu District, culminating in a flagship event at Tsosinyu on August 8.
The day-long initiative witnessed an overwhelming turnout of community members, reflecting the growing trust in governmental health interventions, as the team meticulously worked to cover almost every town within the district to ensure that no citizen was left behind in availing the benefits of this pioneering scheme.
During the program, Benjamin Lorin, Vice President COB, delivered an insightful and comprehensive briefing that served as the cornerstone of the awareness drive, where he eloquently elaborated on the "why," "how," and the multifaceted benefits of CMHIS, making the technical nuances of the health insurance accessible to the layperson. Mr. Benjamin Lorin passionately highlighted the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister of Nagaland, lauding his commitment to taking this flagship scheme to the farthest corners and most rural hinterlands of the state, thereby ensuring that quality healthcare is not a privilege of the urban few but a fundamental right for every Naga citizen, irrespective of geographical constraints.
The medical camp and the accompanying registration counters proved to be a resounding success, with a significant number of beneficiaries, particularly the elderly, hardworking farmers, and mothers, who often form the most vulnerable segments of the rural populace, gaining direct and tangible benefits from the outreach tour. These beneficiaries, many of whom had previously lacked access to structured healthcare and financial protection against medical emergencies, expressed profound gratitude and a renewed sense of hope in the government's proactive and visionary movement through the CMHIS, viewing it as a transformative step towards alleviating the burdens of out-of-pocket healthcare expenses. Meanwhile, the The NPF Youth Wing, Tseminyu Division, extended its heartfelt gratitude to the NPF Central Youth Wing for their invaluable guidance and noble leadership in spearheading this humanitarian venture across the state.
It also thanked the three host villages Tsosinyu, Logwesunyu and Gwachonlo along with their respective village councils, leaders, and all the villagers for their warm hospitality, overwhelming attendance, and active participation, which made the event a grand success.
