Peren, October 2 (MExN): In completion of the two year-long commemoration period of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, District Administration of Peren in convergence with District Level Centre for Women-Mahila Shakti Kendra and Medical Department, Peren organised a free medical checkup camp for women concentrating on women’s hygiene at Primary Health Centre (PHC), Athibung on October 2.
According to a DIPR report, District Coordinator MSK, Lungngaulie gave a brief highlight about the aims and objectives of BBBP in the district and further reminded to maintain social distance as well as to adapt a healthy living in this time of pandemic. She said that since 1990s empowerment of women has also been one of the primary focus of Government policy.
PHC Ahthibung MO, Dr Vezokholu Khamo apprised the women about the importance of maintaining a healthy or a daily women hygiene to prevent irritation, odour and infections from occurring. The various types of hygiene she mentioned were: toilet hygiene, nail hygiene, teeth hygiene, sickness hygiene, hands hygiene etc.
During the programme, sanitary pads, file cover and masks were also distributed to all the participants.
