FSSAI initiates ‘eat right campus’ in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, March 26 (MExN): The office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Mokokchung informed that ‘Eat right campus’ (An FSSAI initiative) was organized by Food Safety Mokokchung Zone at IDSP Hall, IMDH Mokokchung on March 25.

The programme was chaired by Watisenla Jamir, DCM while the key note on ‘Eat right campus’ was delivered by Dr Ayangla Saku, DPO (UIP & RCH), who stated that malnutrition affects all age groups and the society. Eat right campus movement has been launched to make people aware of food safety and nutrition, she informed.

Chubayangla, Nursing Tutor, School of Nursing, gave a presentation on nutrition and Health; nutrition deficiencies, precaution measures and relation of nutrition to health. The presentation was based on ‘Eat safe, Eat healthy, balanced diet and Eat sustainable’.

Bendanglasenla Ao Longkumer, Chemist, SPHC, Kohima, explained to the participants the process of Food Safety (FSSAI). She also spoke briefly about adulteration of food, the ill effects of eating inappropriate food and cited that Food safety aims to bring about a good and healthy society.

Merenlemba, Designated Officer, Food Safety Mokokchung Zone, concluded the programme with vote of thanks, which was followed by a lab demonstration of food samples by a team of Food Technicians led by Bendanglasenla Ao Longkumer, Chemist, SPHC Kohima.
