Kohima | February 5
The State capital Kohima witnessed a shortage of fuel on Friday, following the closure of a stretch of the NH-29 road due to rockslides. Several fuel stations across Kohima closed down by afternoon on February 5, as citizens panicked and rushed to fill their vehicles. According to a resident in Kohima, some of the fuel stations had closed down on Wednesday. However, the capital will see some respite. A notification issued by the Dimapur Deputy Commissioner on February 5 informed that the movement of trucks carrying essential commodities and oil tankers will be allowed to travel from 2:00pm to 5:00pm to ensure the availability of essential commodities. “They have already dispatched the trucks carrying essential commodities and oil tankers, so it will reach us very shortly and it will be available by tomorrow,” informed Kohima ADC, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa.
