GOAL FOR PEACE: 21st NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy from Oct 9-Nov 6

Kohima, September 22 (MExN): The 21st edition of NSF Martyrs' Memorial Trophy under the theme ‘Goal for Peace’ will be hosted by Angami Students Union (ASU). The month long tournament will organized from October 9 to November 6 at IG Stadium Kohima.

The tournament holds the following prizes: 
•    Champion: Rs 2,00,000
•    Runners Up: Rs 1,20,000
•    Losing Semi-Finalists: Rs 30,000
•    Losing Quarter-Finalists: Rs 15,000

Individual prizes:
•    Player of the tournament
•    Highest Scorer
•    Best Custodian
•    Best defender
•    Best mid-fielder

The last date of form submission is October 6. 

A press release issued by Thomas Khawakhrie, Secretary Games and Sports ASU and Dievi Yano, Convenor, Organising Committee stated that the trophy is organised in honour and in remembrance of the two comrades, late Kekuojalie Sachü of Kohima village and late Vikhozo Yhoshü of Kigwema Village, who were victims to the indiscriminate firings of the Armed Police from Alichen, when the students' fraternity, on March 20, 1986, were on a peaceful duty call to the extension of Disturbed Area Belt from 5 KM along the Indo Myanmar Border and against the induction of Indian Police Service (IPS) cadres into the state of Nagaland.
