Nagaland’s Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Advisor Dr Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire today laid the foundation stone of multi-utility hall of Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima (GPPK) here at Chandmari ground.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nicky said the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a different norm which requires having smaller gatherings on any occasions. He called upon people to start avoiding big crowds for one’s own safety.
Remarking the people in the town area have become complacent and do not follow the guidelines or SOPs issued by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19, he appealed all to continue with what has been asked to do including wearing a mask and maintaining social distance. Dr Nicky also assured of all possible support towards GPPK and its community members.
He also called upon the Gorkha community to work in cohesion with their leaders for a better future. GPPK president Santu Thapa expressed hope that Dr. Nicky would extend support towards the successful completion of the multi-utility hall.
GPPK general secretary Suresh Kumar Lama presented a brief report of the project while GPPK welfare secretary Mohan Gurung proposed vote of thanks.
