• No late fine during relaxation period
• No extension to validity of Insurance Certificate
Kohima, April 20 (MExN): The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India has extended the validity of motor vehicle documents till June 30, 2021, in view of the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
The Transport Department, Government of Nagaland in view of the advisory from MoRTH and in continuation of its earlier notification dated January 2, 2021 has decided to extend the validity of motor vehicle documents like fitness certificate, registration certificate of non-transport vehicles, driving license, learner's license and goods carriage, contract carriage, private service and educational institution bus permit.
However, “validity of authorization issued under Chapter-IV of CMV Rules, 1989 for goods carriage and tourist vehicles are not extended as it relates to payment of annual composite tax,” it stated.
The All Stage Carriage Permanent Permits and permits issued by reciprocating states countersigned by STA, Nagaland on interstate routes which had expired since February 1, 2020 or would expire by June 30, 2021 will be valid till June 30, 2021.
For reservation of fancy numbers, in case where fees were paid for reservation of notified fancy registration number or other than the notified number on or after February 1, 2020 and the applicant could not produced required documents within thirty days, it shall remain valid till June 30, 2021. For payment of compensation from Solatium Fund, the applicants who have not submitted application for compensation from Solatium fund whose limitation expired on or after March 22, 2020 or would expire by June 30, 2021 it will be treated as valid till June 30, 2021. ”No late fee/fine shall be imposed during the relaxation period,” the Transport Department stated.
However, there is no extension to validity of Insurance Certificate as the same is issued by Insurance Companies and it is not under the preview of this office and validity of Temporary Permit, it added.
