Peren, January 25 (MExN): A Government Primary School at Gopibung village under Peren district was inaugurated on Monday by Principal Director, Department of School Education, Shanavas C in the presence of villagers, community leaders and district education officials.
According to a press release, Shanavas lauded the community for their participation in building the children’s futures. He also gave a patient hearing to the grievances shared by the Village Education Committee and the Village Council who informed him that the school was run with monetary help from villagers and other well-wishers as no government teachers had been appointed till date.
The programme was chaired by Chungminthang Singson, coordinator of EBRC Ahthibung and officials of Kuki Inpi (N), and KSO (N) also spoke during the programme. Vote of thanks was delivered by Lhingneikim Singsit, DEO Peren, and concluding prayer was said by the VEC Chairman, Songkholam.
Earlier, the Principal Director unveiled the plaque commemorating the inauguration of GPS Gopibung. He was accompanied by Deputy Mission Directors of Samagra Shiksha, Kelhikha Kenye and Liyalo, the release stated.
