Governor pays tribute to Ambedkar

Kohima, December 7 (MExN): On the occasion of Mahaparinirvan Diwas, the Governor of Nagaland PB Acharaya appealed to the citizens especially the youth to emulate the principles and hard work of Ambedkar to build a Nation of justice, equality, opportunity and dignity for all human beings and peace and prosperity among people. Mahaparinirvan Diwas is celebrated every year on December 6 to pay tribute and honour for his great contribution towards the country.   Paying his tribute to Dr B R Ambedkar, known as the ‘Architect of the Indian Constitution’, the Governor stated that the constitution he help write is “still guiding the county and helps it in emerging out safely even after it had passed throughout the several crises”. Ambedkar is remembered and respected everywhere owing to his social work and contribution towards the upliftment of the underprivileged, an advocate of social justice, he challenged the caste system and promoted the rights of the suppressed community. Ambedkar was the first Law Minister of Independent India and appointed as a Chairman of the Drafting Committee. He is not only a Dalit leader but a builder of the nation and a global leader.
