Chümoukedima, July 30 (MExN): Nagaland Governor, Nand Kishore Yadav, visited the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland at Chümoukedima, on July 30, during which he reviewed the institute’s academic, research and infrastructure progress.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said that NIT Nagaland had been playing a significant role in nurturing skilled professionals and future leaders for the State and the country. He observed that alongside academic excellence, qualities such as innovation, adaptability, integrity and a commitment to public service were essential in today’s rapidly evolving world, stated a DIPR report.
He encouraged students to remain curious, embrace innovation and make meaningful contributions to society through research, technology, entrepreneurship and public service. He also urged them to strive for excellence and make the most of the opportunities available to them. He expressed confidence that the institute would continue to produce graduates capable of addressing real-world challenges.
The Governor also appreciated the dedication of the faculty members, stating that their commitment to academic excellence, research and character-building would continue to shape competent and responsible citizens. Expressing confidence in the potential of Nagaland’s youth, he said institutions like NIT Nagaland would continue to contribute significantly to the advancement of science, technology and sustainable development.
Director in-charge, NIT Nagaland, Dr R Kumar, in his welcome address, said that the institute remained committed to promoting higher education, youth empowerment and regional development in the State. He stated that the campus, set in a green and pollution-free environment, provided a conducive atmosphere for academic and personal growth while encouraging innovation. He also highlighted the institute’s efforts to make technical education accessible and said NIT Nagaland was steadily strengthening its infrastructure and academic resources with the goal of emerging as a centre of excellence.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Registrar, NIT, Nagaland Dr Manoj Prabhakar.
Earlier, the Governor was briefed by the Director on the progress and achievements of the institute through a presentation covering institutional growth, academic and research accomplishments, infrastructure development and the institute’s future roadmap. During the visit, the Governor also toured various campus facilities, including academic buildings, hostels, the sports complex and other key infrastructure.
