DIMAPUR, FEB 25 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has now exposed the names of the present Nagaland Governor Shyamal Datta along with those of Goa Governor and former Nagaland Chief Minister S.C Jamir, present Home Minister Thenucho and former Finance Minister in the Neiphiu Rio led DAN government Therie alleging that they were working hand in glove with the Assam Rifles who were ‘raging destructive and obstructive wars upon the NSCN/GPRN. “Inane media carps and allegations to disguise their campaigns have been in right earnest”, stated a press communiqué titled “Are the present stratagems on Naga politics justified” issued by the Ministry of Information and Publicity of the NSCN (IM).
The communiqué alleged that the NSCN (K) was working in collaboration with Indian Intelligence Agencies, Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) and Governor Datta. Further the other three—Jamir, Therie and Thenucho—have been termed as ‘henchmen’.
Taking a serious view of such collaboration, the NSCN (IM) questioned as to why the Government of India remained a mute spectator while such ‘machinations are taking place’ and reminded that New Delhi had assured of its sincerity in bringing about an amicable, acceptable and honorable settlement to the protracted Indo-Naga political problem.
“It is answerable for the GoI in up keeping its commitments not only verbally/in written but also pragmatically on the ground, if there exists sincerity and respect for each other and resolve to bring a solution to the existing problem”, the communiqué stated. Citing instances of alleged attacks meted out on them by the NSCN (K), it said that on the topic of reconciliation and unification “in within the Naga brethrens, one needs introspection and retrospection to understand the ground realities.”
Further, the NSCN (IM) claimed that the “Khaplang group’s” involvement with the United National Liberation Front/ Manipur People’s Army (UNLF/MPA) was questionable as they are “battling the Naga Army and terrorizing the innocent Naga inhabitants, thus, assisting the Meitie agenda of Naga disintegration.”
It was also alleged that on February 24 at around 2:35 pm Inaka, Chaplee (Finance) Secretary of the NSCN (K) and three other armed cadres raided the rented house of a woman named Zutovi at New Minister Hill, Kohima. “She was taken under their captivity, harassed, and interrogated. Her children had to flee and hide in the face of the threat of being shot at. Besides meting out to her and her children unethical and barbaric ill-treatments and incitement of fear-psychosis, her house was also ransacked upside down,” the release said.
