DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 26 (MExN): The officers and staff of Governor’s Secretariat and household establishment, Raj Bhavan observed Constitution Day on November 26 at Banquet Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima.
Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor, T MhabemoYanthan, exhorting the gathering, said that the Constitution is the supreme law of India and every citizen should respect and honour the same with dignity. He also acknowledged the works of the father of the Constitution, Dr Ambedkar, popularly known as ‘Baba Ambedkar’, the man behind the birth of Constitution of India.
It was adopted on November 26, 1949 and became effective on January 26, 1950. The Commissioner and Secretary also administered the oath by reading out the Preamble to Constitution followed by the staff present.
