
Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): The Governor Nagaland today conferred the Governor’s Award 2011 to a number of citizens for their contribution. According to an official communiqué from the Directorate of Art & Culture, the recipients of the Governor’s Awards 2011 for distinction in the fields of art, music and literature are Achila Imlong Erdican and Rev. Y. Chingang Konyak for literature and Hojevi Kappo and Lipokmar Tsudir for music.
The Governor’s Award for distinction in the fields of art, music and literature” was instituted by the state government in 2003 to be conferred on “eminent practitioners, teachers or promoters of art, music or literature in the state,” the departments said. The awards would be given away by the Governor of Nagaland, “on Republic Day, the 26th January, 2012,” at the Raj Bhavan, Kohima. Director, Art & Culture K. Kughazhe Yeputhomi appended the communiqué.
