Govt officials receive crash course on Tally and GST

Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): A two-day crash course with hands on practice on Tally and GST for officials of line departments was conducted from November 17 and 18 at Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission’s Multi Utility Centre, Dimapur.

The resource persons for the training programme were faculty members of NIIT Dimapur Rishav Sethi, Rupali Chakraboty and Bharti Khersa, informed a press release from NBHM Deputy Team Leader Khuvozoyi Vese.

It was attended by a total of 14 officials from the Department of DUDA, Horticulture, Women Resource Development, Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency, Nagaland Bio-Resource Mission, NEPED, Nagaland Beekeeping & Honey Mission and Nagaland Handloom & Handcrafts Development Cooperation.

According to the release, Deputy Team leader Khuvozoyi welcomed the participants to the training programme and gave a brief highlight on ‘Naturally Nagaland.’ He explained that the training was necessitated in order to facilitate thorough learning for the officials of line departments on e-marketing and related business activities which would optimize the sale of products and pave the way for a vibrant marketing of products promoted by ‘Naturally Nagaland.’

He added that it was a good platform for the line departments and encouraged the trainees to responsibly attend the programmes. The officials selected for this training programme should grab the opportunity and become well versed with all matters relating to accounting and marketing of finished and processed products, he added.

The release stated that ‘Naturally Nagaland’ was launched in 2019 with the objective to facilitate marketing of finished and processed products of Nagaland which are being promoted by various Government Departments/ Missions/ NGOs/SHGs/ private entrepreneurs, in order to regulate the pricing and also to control the quality of all such products from Nagaland. 

During the 2 days training program, the resource persons covered topics such as a crash course on MS Office, accounting with Tally, GST using Tally, etc. The class sessions were followed by a productive interactive session with trainees putting in their queries and feedbacks, the release stated.
