Dimapur, February 1 (MExN): The GPRN/NSCN observed its 42nd Raising Day at the Council Headquarter, Khehoi Designated Camp on January 31 with a thanksgiving devotional service.
According to a press release from the group’s MIP, the programme started with an obituary reference in honour of the martyrs who have fought and sacrificed for the aspiration of Naga people.
Guest speaker for the event, NPAC member Hojei Swu paid his respect and homage upon the fallen Naga heroes and dwelled on the background and how the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) was formed on the January 31, 1980 “with the sole purpose of establishing a sovereign Naga nation.”
“Sharing his optimism that the blessing and guidance of the Almighty God would surely prevail upon the Naga people’s aspiration and that the sacrifices and blood of the valiant Naga soldiers would not go in vain, he urged the gathering to stand strong and determined,” the release stated.
Spiritual message and prayer for GPRN/NSCN members was also shared and heard from Vikato Aye, Pastor, CHQ. The programme concluded with a mass prayer for the comfort of the near and dear ones of the martyrs and well-being of the Naga people, it added.
