Dimapur, August 23 (MExN): The Election Committee of Gorkha Students Union Kohima (GSUK) hereby informs all the candidates who have filed nomination for the election of Gorkha Students Union tenure 2011-2013, that due to postponement of the election date from August 21 to August 31, 2011 that withdrawal of nomination date has been postponed to August 25, 2011. This was informed in a press note issued by P.K Thapa, chief election officer, election committee GSUK. The Election Committee also requested all the Gorkha students to kindly get their registration dune on or before August 30, 2011 in the office of the Gorkha Students Union as the registration ID card holder above class VI will only have voting rights.
Kohima monthly review meet held
Dimapur, August 23 (MExN): The Kohima District monthly Review Meeting was held on the August 11. The meeting was chaired by Dr. L. Ralte, CMO, Kohima. The Dpty CMO, the different Programme Officers, SMOs, MOs, BPMs, Asha Coordinators, DPM and Media Officer were present at the meeting. A press note informed that MO in charge of Botsa PHC, Dr Adi Belho, presented on his center’s performance on RCH & NVBDCP for the last 3 years. The DIO, Kohima, informed on the measles check up round in the month of October. DMO, Kohima, shared on the centers’ performance on Active and Passive Blood Slide Collection and also on the second round of DDT spray. Also, the DTO, Kohima, stressed on the Medical Officers to refer cases of patients with cough for more than 2 weeks since the target for Case Detection Rate and Cure Rate has been set at 90%, the note stated.
1 resigns from Congress
Dimapur, August 23 (MExN): Thungchamo Murry, has issued a statement that he has resigned from the primary/active membership of the Congress and also from the post of vice-president Duncan Area Polling booth Committee, 2-Dimapur-II ACCC. He also informs that he joins the NPF along with his supporters with immediate effect. This was informed in a press note issued by him.
World breastfeeding week observed at Phek
Dimapur, August 23 (MExN): District Health Society observed World Breastfeeding Week from August 1 to 7 at Phek District. The IEC team have conducted special camping on Breastfeeding in 5 villages; Phek Basa, Chosaba, Satheri, Phek village and Surhoba. The women were sensitized and created awareness on the importance of breastfeeding in the village rest house. Interpersonal Communication sessions, seminars, lectures, discussions and different activities like demonstration, distribution of poster, pamphlets and leaflets on breastfeeding was conducted. The resource persons were Dp MEIO, District Media Officer, Health Educator and Asha co-ordinator.
