Kohima, August 11 (MExN): The “Har Ghar Tiranga” Exhibition 2026, a collaborative initiative between the Department of Art & Culture and the Home Department, began on August 10 as part of the ongoing nationwide Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration.
As per the DIPR report, the inauguration event at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat was graced by Kuko Mero, IAS, Secretary Home, as the special guest. Mero highlighted that the campaign is designed to showcase the unity, strength and integrity of the nation, adding that the exhibition is a core component of the broader Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 initiative, which will be accompanied by a series of commemorative activities in the coming days.
Beyond being a symbolic gesture, the campaign aims to foster a deeply personal connection with the Tiranga, presenting it as a powerful embodiment of the collective commitment to unity and nation-building, while simultaneously celebrating the 150th anniversary of the spirit of India's National song, “Vande Mataram.”
The official program was chaired by Kr Temjenjungla, Assistant Archivist, Department of Art & Culture, and witnessed the presence of several senior officials, including Elizabeth Ngullie, Secretary, Home Department, Bodeno S Colo, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Department of Art & Culture, and Adela Moa, Director, Department of Art & Culture, along with officers and staff from both departments.
The curated exhibition, located at Gate No. 1 of the Nagaland Civil Secretariat, is designed to immerse visitors in the country’s rich historical heritage and evoke a deep sense of patriotic pride, with students, citizens and all members of the public invited to explore the displays and actively participate in the celebrations.
To help visitors capture the spirit of the occasion, dedicated photo booths have been installed at two key locations – Gate No. 1, Nagaland Civil Secretariat (the main exhibition venue), and the State Museum – with visitors highly encouraged to take photographs and selfies with the National Flag at these booths and upload the images directly to the official Har Ghar Tiranga portal.
All citizens have been encouraged to participate in the momentous occasion and celebrate the shared heritage, as the campaign serves as a formal call to bring the Tiranga into every home across the nation.
