Hausum khel resort: A tourist spot in Poilwa

Hausum khel resort at Poilwa under Peren district will be inaugurated on February 27 at 11:00 am. Nagaland’s Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining Minister V Kashiho Sangtam will be the chief guest while Nagaland’s Tourism Art and Culture Advisor Khehovi Yepthomi will be the guest of honour.

The programme will also witness a visit to Kingam Ndau & Duilum- Roi Hydro project, Poilwa Heritage village, sheep farm. 

The Resort is located on the bank of Duilum-river, Kingam Ndau, Poilwa. A beautiful tourist spot for various purpose like picnic, seminar, crusade, meetings etc surrounded by mountains  and valleys, where one will be welcomed by pristine waters of Duilum-roi and Teupuiki rivers which joins Trans-Mbeuki (Barak) river. Below the Resort is Kingam Ndau (Legendary warrior's leap) is a breath taking gorge, 200 ft deep from the main road down to the river.

Duilaki, is a natural wonder as the river water literally disappears and flows below the rock and reappears at the considerable distance which is a must to visit. Duilumroi Hydro Project and Dam site is also a beautiful place to visit.

Similarly, from the Resort – one can visit Mt Pauna Peak, (a trekker's delight) Tamzaibangdo (Rhododendron Peak) 3rd highest peak in Nagaland, Nraikauba (lover's water fall), Teupuicwak water fall- Duihiazai (a perennial waterfall-refer to as Elephant pass) in Doidirekie Valley (home to Tragopans), which lies in the west of Dzukou Valley, Tangkwak-rezai (where it is believed that men first got rice-seedling from this pond), then on to Heza-kehepau ki (the Rodent Cave), Choloine (the flaming stone), Hetso Bak (Stone Pig) besides, notable artefacts, Coswam, Village Gate, and Pwading - Zoi (Morung bed) and so on.

Poilwa is a land rich in nature's gift which nestle numerous wonders, which is yet to be explore and discovered by the outside world. Beside, its flora and fauna there are endangered species such as Tragopan, Hornbill, Civet, Deer, Peacock and Rainbow Trout (Kahane).

It has rich herbs and other medical plants.

Tourist Guest houses available at Poilwa village and paying Guest house will be made available shortly in Resort area.
