Dimapur, March 1 (MExN): Minister for Soil & Water Conservation, Geology & Mining V Kashiho Sangtam inaugurated the Hausum Khel Resort at Poilwa on February 27.
According to a press release received here today, the resort lies on the bank of Duilum-roi river, Kingam Ndau, Poilwa under Peren district.
The resort monolith which was unveiled by the Minister in the presence of Nagaland Advisor for Tourism, Art and Culture Khehovi Yepthomi and other dignitaries was dedicated by Rev Peuhau N Hau, Pastor, Hindi Baptist Church, Dimapur.
On the occasion, the Minister is said to have encouraged the villagers to promote eco-tourism and generate employment avenues through the tourism industry. Advisor Khehovi also called upon the Poilwa people and its neighbouring villagers to preserve the flora and fauna of the beautiful land, the release stated.
Several public leaders including former minister Vatsu Meru, Naga Mothers Association President Abeü-Meru, Class-I Contractor KC Angami, GBs and leaders of neighbouring villages, district administration officials as well as department officials attended the inauguration programme.
According to the release, popular Naga musician and poet Methaneilie Jutakhrie performed during the programme.
