‘Health and education vital for village to develop’

Peren, November 28 (MExN): The recognition programme of Beisumpuiram village by the Government of Nagaland was held on November 28 with Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS as the special guest. Beisumpuiram village is under Ahthibung Sub-Division in Peren District. 

According to a DIPR report, the village was established on May 17, 2006 and was recognised by the Government of Nagaland on October 12, 2017. Former Chief Minister of Nagaland and Present Leader of Opposition, TR Zeliang during his tenure of Chief Minister of Nagaland (2014-2017) declared the recognition of Beisumpuiram village.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Peren, Sentiwapang Aiersaid, “for a village to develop, health sector and education is of major importance,” therefore urged the local people in the village to put more focus on health sector and education system in the village.

He lauded the village leaders for their tireless efforts and initiative from the start till the recognition of the village by the Government of Nagaland. He also encouraged the villagers to seek God’s blessings in order to move forward towards development and progress. Aier mentioned that all round development can be attained only by maintaining peace and tranquility. He encouraged them not to depend much on government schemes and jobs but to adopt private entrepreneurship and become self-sufficient. 

A memorandum was submitted by Beisumpuiram Village Councils to Deputy Commissioner of Peren.

Monolith opening programme was held where in inauguration of Village Recognition Monolith was done by the DC Peren, Sentiwapang Aier while Stone Opening Prayer was pronounced by Local Pastor, Akwabe and the programme was chaired by Deibambe. 

Others who spoke in the programme included Chairman Old Beisumpui, Urangtalakpe, Ex Chairman Beisumpuiram, Mbailang, SDO (C) Ahthibung, Alemyapang Longchar, Zeme Council President, Dr Tumda Newme and ZSU (N) President, Aakam Pame.
