KOHIMA, MAY 2 (MExN): The Department of Health & Family Welfare organised farewell programme for Principal Director, Dr Neikhrielie Khimiao at the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare on April 30. 

Health Minister, S Pangyu Phom and Principal Secretary, H&FW, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, IAS graced the occasion. Senior officers, CMOs & MSs from different districts, and staff of the department attended the program. 

The programme commenced with the welcome address by Chairperson, Dr Thorhusie Katiry, Mission Director (NHM), where he appreciated the efforts of the retiring officer for enthusiastically participating in the improvement of the department and raising the bar of perfection. As a mark of recognizing for his outstanding service and contribution, the department presented the retiring officer with a citation. 

Speeches were delivered by the Minister and the Principal Secretary, expressing the gratitude they have for his invaluable contribution to the department and in making the journey a memorable one for all involved. The occasion also witnessed senior officials of the department expressing their attachment to working along with the retiring officer.  

Dr Neikhrielie Khimiao in his speech thanked God for his plans to bring him thus far and thanked the department for making his tenure worthwhile. In closing, he wished success to the incoming Principal Director, Dr Vikato Kinimi and officially handed over the keys of the designated Principal Director vehicle.
