Kohima, April 27 (MExN): Commemorating the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, District Health Society, Department of Health & Family Welfare (NHM) organised the 2nd block level health mela at CHC Chiephobozou, Kohima on April 27. Altogether, 24 villages under Chiephobozou Block were covered in the health mela.
A DIPR report stated that it was held in collaboration with the departments of State Health Authority, Food Safety (FSSAI, Youth Affairs & Sports, Ayush, School Education, Information & Broadcasting, Women & Child Development, Panchayati Raj Institution, Directorate of Urban Development and Directorate of Art & Culture, supported by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India.
Chairman, NKVIB, Dr Neiphrezo Keditsu, while gracing the health mela thanked the medical Fraternity and line departments for their noble imitative in holding such melas for the benefit of the public, especially in the rural areas. Dr. Keditsu said that it is high time for the Nagas to be more conscious about health and well-being since it is the prime factor that will lead them to achieve their targeted goals. He encouraged the public to avail the best opportunity, while all the modern equipment and facilities are at their doorsteps.
Chairing the program, CMO Kohima, Dr Vezokholu Theyo highlighted the aims and objectives of holding health melas. Short speeches were delivered by ADC Chiephobozou, Vekhoyi Chakhesang and Chairman (HCMC), Kevipusa Kizeo. Vote of thanks was pronounced by Dy CMO, Dr Khriesilie Sachu.
Earlier, Sr MO Chiephobozou, Dr. Selhounyu highlighted the Key Services that are available during the Mela. Stalls for Reproductive Child Health, NCD, Communicable Diseases, Eye Care, General Awareness, ENT, and Dental were opened for the public during the Health Mela, where medicines were also given to the patients for free of cost.
