Longleng, December 11 (MExN): The monthly District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Longleng was held under the chairmanship of Minister for Health & Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom at DC's Conference Hall on December 10.
Addressing the members, a DIPR report stated that Minister, Pangnyu Phom congratulated and extended his appreciation to all the frontline works, district administration, police and security force, government officials, PBCA, NGOs and civil societies of the district for working relentlessly to control and contain the spread of COVID-19 under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner, Longleng M Shayung Phom.
He further appealed the DPDB members and frontline workers to continue to educate and create awareness on COVID-19 to control the spread of Coronavirus. The Minister also invited all the officers and members to come forward to share any problems and grievances with the elected members directly for the development of Longleng.
On behalf of the DPDB, DC Longleng, M Shayung Phom apprised the Minister for construction of quarter for ADC HQ, modification of DPDB hall, GA Guest House and posting of DEO (Education), JE (CAWD), DFO (Fishery), UDO (Urban) and EE Power for smooth functioning of developmental works in the district.
The newly elected President of Phom People's Council (PPC), Shami Angh also exhorted the members. Angh informed that after serving as Government servant and MLA in his capacity he has finally decided to work as an NGO leader for development and corruption free society.
The proposal for construction of water reservoir tank submitted by the OC Fire & Emergency Service, Longleng was discussed and approved for allotment. In this regard the board entrusted DC & PPC for allotment of suitable site for construction of water reservoir tank. However, it was decided that the concern department shall execute the work.
