Healthcare with Coffee

Coffee is a brewed drink prepared from roasted coffee beans, the seeds of berries from certain coffee species. From the coffee fruit, the seeds are separated to produce a stable, raw product: unroasted green coffee.

The health benefits from coffee are as follows:

•    Two cups of coffee could cut post-workout muscle pain upto 48%.

•    Increases fibre intake; one cup of brewed coffee contributes upto 1.8 gram of fibre.

•    Protects against liver cirrhosis; both coffee and decaffeinated coffee lowers the liver enzyme level. 

•    Lowers type two diabetes; daily cup of coffee consumed decreases type two diabetes by 9%.

•    Lowers Alzheimer’s disease; there is considerable evidence that caffeine may protect against Alzheimer’s disease (European Journal of Neurology).

•    Reduces depression; Harvard School of Public Health found that women who drink four or more cups of coffee were 20% less likely to suffer from depression. 

•    Protects against Parkinson’s disease; research in Sweden revealed that drinking coffee reduces risk of Parkinson’s even when genetic factors come into play.

•    Coffee drinkers have less risk of heart disease; Korean researchers found that participants who consumed three to five cups of coffee in a day were less likely to show signs of disease.

•    Coffee drinkers have stronger DNA; European Journal of Nutrition showed that coffee drinkers have DNA with stronger integrity since the white blood cells of coffee drinkers had far less instance of spontaneous DNA strand breakage.

•    Lowers risk of multiple sclerosis; at least four cups of coffee in a day help protect against the development and reoccurrence of MS.

•    Reduces colorectal cancer risk; even moderate consumption of coffee could reduce the odds of developing colorectal cancer by 26%.

•    Reduces liver cancer risk; researchers at USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Centre found that those who consume one- three cups of coffee in a day have a 29% reduced risk of developing liver cancer.

•    Less gout risk; risk of developing gout in man decreases with increase in coffee consumption.

•    Longevity; Greeks boiled coffee in linked to longevity and heart health.

•    Prevents retinal damage; a Cornell University Study showed that coffee may prevent retinal damage due to oxidative stress.

•    Black coffee prevents cavities; researchers in Brazil found that strong black coffee kills the bacteria on teeth that lead to tooth decay.

•    May protect against periodontal disease; the US Department of Veterans Affairs Dental Longitudinal Study has linked coffee consumption to dental health.

•    May protect against Melanoma; the Journal of the National Cancer Institute found that melanoma risk disease with coffee consumption.

•    Reduces heart attack mortality risk; researchers found that those who drink two or more cups of coffee daily after having a heart attack have the least risk of dying from heart attack.

•    USDA recommends for better health; the USDA’s new 2015 dietary guidelines recommend it for better health.

•    Helps to get along with co-workers; the Journal of Psychopharmacology showed the that workers/ work places who consume coffee have a more positive view of self and other.
