Dimapur, September 7 (MExN): The Kohima Bench of the Guwahati High Court has “adjourned” the hearing on the Women reservation Bill, in Nagaland, to September 27. Sources informed today that the high court “adjourned’ the hearing owing to some “technical” issues that cropped up. Earlier, the court had heard the writ petition about the 33% reservation for women in civic bodies and had scheduled September 7 the date for hearing. The first hearing was held on July 15, and the second on July 25. On June 24, the bench admitted the writ petition filed by a ‘joint action committee’ of the Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA). The NMA had sought the court’s action as the Nagaland state government was not implementing it.
