High Power Delegation of JDU to visit Nagaland

DIMAPUR, JUNE 23 (MExN): The Janata Dal United (JDU) Nagaland has informed that, “in order to pay tribute to Jaya Prakash Narayan, Member of Peace Mission and his love for the Naga people,” a High Power Delegation of the JDU will be visiting Nagaland from June 29 to July 1. 

The delegation shall comprise of Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, National President, JDU, MP ( Lok Sabha) & Leader  of the JDU in Lok Sabha, as well as Chairman, Parliamentary Board on Energy; Afaque Ahmed Khan, National General Secretary, Northeast In-charge and  MLA, Bihar; Harshvardhan Singh, National General Secretary, JDU; Kaushalendra Kumar, MP ( Lok Sabha); Ramprit Mandal, MP ( Lok Sabha); and Aneel Prasad Hegde, MP (Rajya Sabha).

A press release from The HDU Nagaland reminded that Jaya Prakash Narayan, also known as JP, had traversed many length and breadth of the Naga areas as Member of Peace Mission in the 1960s to “understand the pulse of the Naga people and their political movement for independence.”

“It was the ardent desire of JP who conveyed to the Indian Government of the day that displeased Nagas at the border would be very detrimental to the interest of India. Hence, solution must be found,” the party said.

Apart from meeting with various civil societies on June 30, the High Power Delegation will pay a visit to late AZ Phizo’s grave and also meet with the press fraternity.
