High time to reveal truth: NSCN Khaplang

DIMAPUR, JULY 26 (MExN): The NSCN Khaplang has stated that there was nothing wrong in desiring to bring about solution to the Indo-Naga Political impasse and that the entire strata of the Naga society had been vocally and tirelessly striving to usher in conducive atmosphere to resolve the same. A press note issued by the MIP NSCN/GPRN pointed out that with the signing of the Indo-Naga cease-fires between the GOI and two NSCN’s and FNR’s ‘COR’ signed between various opposing Naga political parties it had “brought forth a very decisive and much desired understanding, tolerance and mutual acceptance”.
Stating that the peace process as “entailed had been very crucial in facilitating means and ways to arrive at sustainable political dialogue aimed at resolving the conflicts peacefully”, the press note pointed out that the “significant level of progress has already been achieved so far due to constant intercession from the FNR and supported by the Nagas from every walk of lives”. It pointed out that the FNR’s “tremendous contribution in restoring peace, amity and path breaking reconciliation, which has for decades eluded the Nagas” was indeed “heartfelt” and that this has become a “trendsetting success even in the eyes of the conflict torn international communities across the world”.
The MIP note stated that the “on-going process should therefore be honored and the opportunities it bestows should be availed by every struggling political parties to take the process to the higher plane and towards the direction ultimate goal of political solution through negotiation with the Government of India”. “In principle, the basic issue is ‘Sovereign independence’ and that has been the basic premise for every Naga political parties”, stated the press note. “However, the reality and the position of GOI vis-à-vis the Naga issue is at this point of time not complementary and considering the long sufferings that has been endured and consequent intolerances of the Naga public in general towards political violence has become very apparent and inescapable”.
The NSCN Khaplang stated that “taking all these factors into account, it is but natural and imperative not only to expedite the on-going political dialogues but also to include those party still outside the purview of the political process”. However it stated that “the Khehoi camp justification on it’s merger arrangement with the IM and attributing this approach as entirely in reciprocity to FNR’s “Reconciliation and unification” process instead of political expediency may embroil the FNR in sensitive political squabble in the event of backfire”.
“Because judging by the belligerent stance and open militant threat to attack NSCN/GPRN designated camp in Suruhuto by continuous (on-going) rapid deployment  of it’s armed cadres in and around the camp vicinity from every directions and provocatively conveying to us of the imminent raid indicates itself of  unholy collusion of the two forces against the NSCN/GPRN”, it stated.
“The fact that NSCN/GPRN being a partner in FNR’s “COR” and Khehoi camp passionate retribution strategy simultaneous with its merger with IM implies the role of FNR as well”, it stated while questioning as to “whether such policies are being designed to present it’s case to the GOI for taking serious cognizance of it’s agenda by establishing an alliance with IM or to undermine the NSCN/GPRN remains to be seen”. It pointed out that the “consequences of impulsive and shortsighted recourse at this crucial hour definitely portends grave disaster in the making that would haunt the future generations Nagas ahead”.
The NSCN/GPRN Khaplang has once again reaffirmed “its sincere commitment to the FNR’s “COR” and to the Nagas of our conviction in upholding and defending the sacred cause”.
