Flays State Govt for blaming Centre over the issues
Kohima, February 22 (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) President, K Therie today stated that the Hindi teachers were appointed by the State Government “after verifying their credentials” and therefore “deserve their salaries.”
In this connection, he flayed the State Government for its inability to pay the salaries of Hindi teachers and blaming it on the Central Government.
It is pathetic, Therie stated in a press release, issued in response to reported statement by the Advisor, School Education, KT Sukhalu that the Central Government has “refused to release salaries as Nagaland’s Hindi teachers are not qualified, (and) needs authentication.”
“I do not believe the Centre will starve Hindi Teachers to death,” the NPCC President asserted.
Screening of qualifications does not arise after having appointed them and utilising their services, he pointed out.
After using their services, condemning Hindi teachers and denying their salaries exposes the irresponsible government’s inability to protect and defend its employees, he added.
The Chief Minister, who is Minister In-charge of the department, should intervene and pay the salaries without any further delay, he further demanded.
