Wokha, August 23 (MExN): The Red Ribbon Club, Mount Tiyi College Wokha conducted a programme on HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis awareness on August 20 in the college seminar hall. The resource persons were Dr. Benchilo Ngullie, DTO and Lichumo Odyuo, DPO (Dapcu).
In the first session, Lichumo Odyuo spoke on HIV/AIDS. He warned about the alarming growth of AIDS infected people in the state of Nagaland with the aid of district-wise data. He also enlightened about the establishment of HIV testing centres in the state and its accessibility.
In the second session, Dr. Benchilo Ngullie discussed at length about TB. She emphasised on its causes, diagnosis and treatment.
The programme was chaired by Faustina, Asst. Prof (Sociology) and the welcome address was spoken by Dr. Apeni Lotha, Principal. The vote of thanks was delivered by Sentimenla Jamir, Asso. Prof & HoD (Education).
