Dimapur: Students of Hollotoli School Primary Wing, Dimapur performed before a huge audience for the Annual Day Programme on March 22, 2014. “Over the Rainbow”– the theme for the Annual Day offered a coordinated picture of the issues afflicting the society we live in.
The annual school day programme was like no other. Students, with the help of their teachers, presented a well thought out programme highlighting the issues afflicting the society. The children were able to emphatically bring out social concerns and issues like how we treat orphans, the plight of child labour and many more through beautiful words and convincing performances.
The celebrations began with children in beautiful costumes representing ‘Our beautiful world’, which was followed by an Acapella song ‘Drop in the bucket’, Irish dance, musical play, Hindi musical, and a fusion dance. The children also presented a moving Choreography with the message that, “There are no strangers, there are no outcasts, and there are no orphans”.
The highlight of the evening was a play titled, “Our Story- Free the Children” on the existing issue of child labour in India. The children raised the issue of exploitation of children for labour and how it can be ended. The parents seemed to enjoy the programme thoroughly, connecting to the messages presented by their little children.
