Preparations underway at the main arena of Hornbill Festival in Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.
Kohima, November 26 (MExN): A series of events will be held as part of the annual Hornbill Festival, including a new international edition in Mon district.
The Department of Underdeveloped Areas will inaugurate the International Hornbill Festival - Mon edition from December 8 to 10 at the Konyak Heritage Complex in Mon HQ. The event will feature a cultural extravaganza, traditional cuisine, an Artisan’s Corner, indigenous games, cultural displays, stall exhibitions, and a Hornbill Evening Gala.
The Department of Art & Culture will set up the Annual Hornbill Artists’ Corner Art Gallery at the WWII Museum premises in Kisama. The gallery is conceived as an art fair to display and exhibit visual artworks produced by local artists.
Art & Culture director Adela Moa has requested interested artists to submit two works, along with a tag/label and a brief bio-data, at the Directorate of Art & Culture by November 28 or at the Artists’ Corner in Kisama by December 1.
The 5th edition of The Great Hornbill Run, a 10-kilometre race for men and women, is scheduled for December 5 at the Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence (RCSE) in Sovima, Chümoukedima.
The registration fee is Rs 500, with the last date for registration being November 30. The total prize pool exceeds Rs 1,00,000, with the winner receiving Rs 30,000. For further details, contact 9612857713 or 9856237073.
The Directorate of Industries & Commerce is organizing a Buyers & Suppliers Meet under the RAMP Project on December 4-5 at the Bamboo Hall, Kisama Naga Heritage Village.
The initiative aims to strengthen business linkages by facilitating direct interaction between local entrepreneurs, artisans, and buyers from across India. The department stated that this platform is expected to enhance market access and promote Nagaland’s MSME ecosystem.
