Third fire incident in 72 hrs

A fire incident was reported in Kohima on December 12, in which a house was gutted and properties worth Rs 18 lakh was destroyed.
Office in charge, Fire Station Kohima (South) informed The Morung Express that a fire call was received at 11:22 am around Middle PWD Colony.
Duty officer Sevi Kera informed that vehicles from both South and North Fire Station were deployed along with 33 personnel during the call of duty.
The fire was doused off after 1 hour and 3 minutes saving properties worth Rs 30 lakh. There were no reports of casualty in the incident.
The house which was partially damaged in the fire was a Type-6, government staff quarter. According to reports, a short circuit which occurred around 11:00 am was suspected to be the cause of the fire.
While this is the third fire incident reported in the last 72 hours in Kohima, the fire and emergency services department has appealed the public not to panic and report cases immediately keeping in mind traffic and narrow lane. It also assured 24/7 preparedness in the part of the department.
