ZUNHEBOTO, AUGUST 1 (MExN): Minister for Higher and Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along visited Zunheboto on July 31.
A DIPR report informed that during his visit to Zunheboto Government College, the Minister said that the government has approved the introduction of science stream in the college. He added that this was possible due to the initiative of Advisor for School Education, KT Sukhalu.
Later the Minister with his entourage visited Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu. Speaking there at KPA, the Minister said that it was surprising to see that after 46 years the institute was still offering only diploma degree and assured of his best possible effort towards upgrading it to an Engineering College and to make his maiden visit a fruitful one.
Principal of Khelhoshe Polytechnic Atoizu, Er M Nakhro while delivering the welcome address highlighted the grievances faced by the institute and requested the Minister to upgrade the institute to a full-fledged Civil Engineering degree college.
Advisor for School Education, KT Sukhalu also spoke in the function, where he appealed to the citizens of Atoizu and land owners to be wise and not let go of this opportunity which is beginning to take shape for the betterment of the institute.
MLA Atoizu, Picto, Sumi Hoho, SKK and Chairman of the land also spoke assuring their cooperation to the government for the betterment of the institute.
Later the Minister visited the institute and interacted with the students and faculty.
