IAPWC conducts seminar for physiotherapists on ‘Antenatal Care’

Dimapur, October 21 (MExN): The Indian Association of Physiotherapy Women Cell (IAPWC) Nagaland Branch organized a seminar on women’s health “Antenatal Care” on October 20 at Nikos Hospital and Research Center, Dimapur.  

The resource person for the seminar was Dr Imnainla Longchari PT, IAPWC Dimapur District sub co-ordinator. Dr Imnainla, in a press release stated that she gave a brief introduction of pregnancy and the challenges through all the trimesters.  

The resource person also emphasized on the changes of posture during pregnancy, the common problems of low back pain, pelvic pain, incontinence, lower limb swelling and compression problems during pregnancy.  

She further stressed on the importance of exercise during pregnancy, the proper posture and home based exercise.  

In the summery, the resource person stressed out on the do’s and don’ts of physiotherapy antenatal exercise. The event was chaired by Dr Bonikali Achumi PT (MPT Neuro), IAPWC Dimapur District Co-ordinator. The program was attended by physiotherapists from around Dimapur and general public.
