Mokokchung, May 31 (MExN): The District Tobacco Control Cell, Mokokchung observed World No Tobacco Day 2021 at IMDH Mokokchung on May 31.
A press release from Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office, Mokokchung stated that a small briefing was given to the hospital staffs by Dr Taliwati District Nodal officer, National Tobacco Control Programme (NCPT), Mokokchung. He emphasized on the harmful use of tobacco and its effects, specially during the pandemic times and how spitting can be a major contributor in spreading COVID-19.
Based on this year’s theme ‘Commit To Quit’ an essay competition was held online for school students. The first prize was bagged by Akumienla, Class 12 of Queen Mary Higher Secondary School. Moluren Longkhum, Class 9 of Assam Rifles High School and Sunepbenla T Imchen, Class 10 of Edith Higher Secondary School won the second and third place resopectively.
