Immanuel College hosts inter-college literary competition

Dimapur, August 13 (MExN): Immanuel College, Dimapur organised an inter-college literary competition on August 13 at the college auditorium. The programme was organised as a two session event engaging all sections of college students in the literary events like debate, extempore, poetry and painting.  

The College in a press release informed that the events saw participation of students from nine different colleges of Dimapur including Dimapur Government College, Eastern Christian College, MGM College, St. John College, SD Jain Girls College, Tetso College, Yemhi Memorial College, Pranabananda Women's College and Immanuel College.  

The two rounds of debate competitions were held on the topic ‘Should animals be used for research/commercial testing?’ and ‘Clean Election-was clean election a success during the recently concluded election in Nagaland?’ respectively.   Khyochamo Yanthan, Tetso College was adjudged the winner of the debate competition who spoke against the motion while Pukho Khiamniungan, DGC took the 2nd place speaking in favour of the topic.  

For the extempore speech, Kewimesin Nriame, St. John College was placed 1st and Chongpineng Kuki, SD Jain Girls College got the 2nd place. The winner of the painting competition was Imkongwapang, DGC and the 2nd runner up was Shunyei, St. John's College. The theme for the painting competition was ‘Save a Girl Child’. The last event of the programme was poetry competition in which Supolong Changkiri, DGC and Moasunep of Immanuel College was placed 1st and 2nd respectively.  

The winners of each category were awarded with certificate and cash prize and certificate of participation and appreciation were also awarded to all the participants and the delegates of all the participating college.
