The people are of the views that, once the different political groups were united, Naga political problem can be solved by concerted effort. Literally, Naga political problem is here because of the India authorities lack of sincerity and political will which is solely responsible for not solving the problem. But the misgivings of the people are also strong that the disunity among the Naga Political groups are another attributing factor which is an obstacle to solve the protracted problem. However, in between this two contrary views, whether there is a political problem or not “Nagas are one” is a proven fact, so the people wants all the Naga political group to be united as a one family. In keeping with the view, the Naga civil societies have been advocated the need of unity among the Naga political groups in particular and the Nagas in general. The move for unity is also felt extremely essential for the fact that the Nagas have common hope and genuine desire to live as an independent nation by solving the long standing political problem with concerted effort. Therefore, as the said move is sailing smoothly at the moment for the co-operations of the political groups. In order to make it (unity) practical, the civil societies are tirelessly working round the clock facilitating the unity move. But besides the civil societies move, it is imperative for one and all to understand that unity can not be practical unless all sections of the people are involved or whole heartedly supported. As of now, the political groups are showing keenness to unite, but the peoples’ apprehensions still persist for the reason that this is not the first experience of unity move. But in spite of persisting apprehensions, people are hopeful that the ongoing unity move would be successful with the hope that the political groups might have realized the futility of factionalism. Meanwhile, the people also wanted the political groups to stop promoting the interest of hatreds, antagonizing one another and egoistic attitude which the people feel is the main obstacles to achieve unity. It may be recalled that the internal dissensions have brought down the Nagas to the extend of immense lost of precious lives which has nothing to do with the Nagas aspired goal. The people’s cry for unity is not only mean to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, but eager to see that the long standing political problem should be addressed with concerted effort. Although the sincerity of the Government of India (GOI) can not be taken granted, it is observing that the Govt.of India is also willing to solve the Naga political problem through peaceful means. Therefore, at this crucial juncture, while the Naga civil organizations are trying hard to unite all the political groups, every section of the societies irrespective of political affiliations must strongly support the unity move in line with the purpose. The unity move at this crucial juncture is not necessarily to “talk about the talk” but a tangible conclusion is a must, which have been failed in the past.
To translate the unity move into practical, civil societies and Hohos are constantly in touch with the political groups urging upon all the groups to stop writing one against the other or misanthropic to one another. The NGOs and civil societies also urging the political groups to extend their fullest co-operation and unflinching support for the success of unity move. It is well aware by all the sensitive people that the Government of India is full of pretentious and easy to the blame on others if she failed to win over by offering her designs. But in the case of Naga Political issue, if the Naga National Workers are united, people are not hesitate to go to the extend of fighting to the last person. It is observing that the Government of India is trying to shift the responsibility to the Nagas by trying that the Naga political problem is unable to solve, because of the absence of one voice of the Nagas. It is therefore opine that the political groups’ disunity should not be an obstacle to the settlement of the Naga people’s aspiration. It is also imperative for one and all to understand the intentions of GOI, and realize the need of “unity at all cost. The people are of the views that, all the political groups must forgive each bitter wound of the past inflicted upon one another and forgive each one’s mistake as no one is perfect. It is also important to remind oneself to be humble enough and accommodative rather than clinging on to prestige while trying to become one. As of now, the people are all happy, because of the political groups’ realization of the futility of blood shed which has claimed so many precious lives in the past, but still yearning to see the practical unity. The people are also of the views that such an opportunity of meeting and coming closer with each other may come or never, therefore, the yearning for unity should not be shuttered or jeopardized because of individual’s differences. At this crucial juncture, all the political groups take the chance to reconcile with each other and pave a way for peace and tranquility to prevail in out land. While trying to impress upon all the people to take care of the unity move, if any harsh language or unacceptable in any way without intentions have used in this write up I may be forgiven for unintentions.
