Inclusive Excellence: KVSU 56th annual general conference-cum-sports meet

Kezoma Village Students’ Union (KVSU) 56th annual general conference-cum-sports meet was held under the theme ‘Inclusive Excellence’ on December 28. 

Director for Department of Technical Education, Government of Nagaland, Er Vipulhou Lhoungu opined that the wealth of a village is not measured by the quantity or money but by its active and vibrant youth and students who will become leaders of tomorrow. The speaker called to treasure the young talents by guiding them on the right path and nurturing them.

Elaborating on the theme, Inclusive Excellence, he said it was very vast and wide and added that today inclusivity must be included in all spheres of life especially decision making. 

He called the students to be humble and obedient in their endeavour while observing that today the world is surrounded by the advancement of technology, Artificial Intelligence and many evils. 

Lhoungu reflected on how discipline today was important during student life and said when one enjoy the comforts of today and become lazy to toil for their future, there will be a reverse in their situations later and therefore, cautioned against involving in anti social elements. 

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Visapa Yongo, Advisor KVSU and presidential address was delivered by Süvito Mekro. Chairman Kezoma Village Council, Kikrosa Naki and Southern Angami Students’ Union (SASU) delivered greetings on the occasion. Reports were given by Educational and Statistical Secretary and General Secretary and Viyodi Zecho presented special song. 

On December 27, during the games and sports meet, Retd Registrar, Department of Horticulture, Dusahe Noho was the special guest. He expressed how even the government is supporting education by providing thousands of students with scholarship and other avenues of support. The speaker spoke about the advantages of students’ organisation foremostly building unity among the youths, creating leaders to lead in various fronts and instilling a sense of discipline among others.
