Inspection for ‘Cleanest Colony Competition 2021’ from April 24

Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): The panel of judges for ‘Cleanest Colony Competition 2021’ during a meeting on April 19 resolved to start inspection of every colony under DMC jurisdiction from April 24. 

The competition is orgnaised under the aegis of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) for A Better Dimapur initiative. 
A press note received here said that this year the judging will be very strict and it will be based on ten criteria, Viz. garbage management, drainage management, burning of waste, community toilet, community participation, sanitation committee activities, jungle/foliage clearance, tobacco free zone, construction & demolition waste not littered/obstructing traffic or general public and clearance of RST (Residential sanitation Tax) upto date. 

Under DMC, out of 23 wards there are 73 small colonies and 22 large colonies.

There will be no elimination round and subsequently all colonies will be given points every month. The prizes for winning colony are Rs 1,00000 (winner), Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 for 1st and 2nd runners up respectively for both small and big colony categories. Prizes of Rs 10000 respectively will be given both for small as well as big colonies.

The judges comprises of Nukshi Matong EAC (sardar) as convenor and Sentimeren Pongen, Vice-President Dimapur Naga Students Union (DNSU) as member secretary, Vimeno Angami, Vice-President Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD), Onen Jamir, General secretary GBs Union Dimapur, Zasi Zakiesato, General Secretary  Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) and Gangangpou Joint Secretary Naga Council Dimapur(NCD).
The judges have decided to go inspection every week.
