An interim relief: 1408 rice bags reach Kiphire

Seven trucks loaded with 1408 bags of rice supplied by the Department of Food and Civil Supplies from Dimapur reached Kiphire on Saturday. The relief consignment was received by the District Administration today at the helipad ground which was latter distributed to the wards and to all the administrative Hq in the district after working out the population and the gravity of the situation.  

The District Administration, while receiving the relief supplies, expressed gratitude to the F&CS department for taking personal initiative in arranging the relief consignment to Kiphire which has been severely affected by natural disaster.  

Led by the Deputy Commissioner and the F&CS department, the distribution of food grains received from the government was dispatched to all the wards in Kiphire town and all the administrative Hq to be distributed to all the villages in the districts.  

Meanwhile, Chairman of All Ward Union, Kiphire town, Lisethrong expressed gratitude to Asangla Imti (NCS), Director, F&CS for not only personally supervising the process but also deputing its staffs to oversee that the food grains reached Kiphire safely.  

The chairman also appreciated the District Administration, Kiphire for coordinating, District Administrations of Kohima, Phek, Meluri for ensuring safe passage of the consignment trucks, Kenyuhile Tep, Asst. Director, F&CS Kiphire, Ren Humtsoe, Inspector for tirelessly working hard and making necessary arrangement in tying up with the directorate for the food grains to reach the citizens in the entire district.  

Department sources also disclosed that the Directorate of F&CS had to wait for a few days in Dimapur to send the food grains to Kiphire as no truck is willing to travel to Kiphire. Only with the intervention of Home Commissioner and District Administration, Dimapur, the food grains were able to reach Kiphire.
