IRB jawans take free petrol then assault

Dimapur | September 16 : Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) jawans known for hogging the headlines for the wrong reasons have done it again. This time, the scene of the exploits of the IRB jawans is at a petrol pump at Chumukedima on Friday around 4-4.30 pm.
According to an eyewitness account, three “drunk” jawans of the 11NAP (IR) in civvies came to ‘Nagamese Service Station’, one of the oldest petrol pumps in Chumukedima, in a white Maruti car and asked one of the attendants to fill the car with petrol.
After the car was refueled, the three IR jawans tried to leave without paying money. When the boy-attendant asked for payment, the jawans, reportedly boxers bashed up the attendant and left the scene.
Later, public of the area informed police about the incident and by late evening personnel of Diphupar police station reportedly apprehended one of the three IR jawans.  Efforts are on to nab the two other absconding IR jawans, sources added.
